The climate emergency is the biggest challenge of our lifetime, and the food industry has a key role to play in reducing global emissions.
I became vegan 10 years ago at the age of 31. I first attempted to at 18 but due to a lack of knowledge and availability of healthy food, I soon quit. Now I feel very passionately about filling that gap creating satisfying plant based options. Ensuring that plant based options are delicious, nutritionally balanced and exciting makes it easy for you to choose what to eat, and what impact that will have.
Lead author, Professor Peter Scarborough, at Oxford University, says: “Our dietary choices have a big impact on the planet. Results, which use data from over 38,000 farms in over 100 countries, show that high meat diets have the biggest impact for many important environmental indicators, including climate change and biodiversity loss. Cutting down the amount of meat and dairy in your diet can make a big difference to your dietary footprint”
